Yummy, today’s gift idea from the kitchen I would have preferred not to give away at all, but to completely feed it myself. They have become delicious caramel honeyffees, with a bit of crunch through salted macadamias!

Honeytoffees with salted macadamias – Gifts from the kitchen
Fortunately, I always plan a large quantity of all my gift ideas for the “quality control”, so in the end there is still something left to give away. The combination of honey tea with salted macadamia nuts was spontaneously created as a residual use. Fortunately, I wrote the recipe down right away, because it will be available here more often now. To give away, I simply wrapped the individual toffees in small pieces of baking paper like a sweet. I would give them away in the same packaging as the cookies with roasted almonds. But now comes the recipe for you!

Every Thursday before Christmas we have a gift idea from the kitchen for you. You can find them all here: DIY gifts from the kitchen.

Honeyffees with salted macadamias – that’s what you need
For 40 – 50 pieces

300 grams sugar
60 grams honey
50 grams butter
60 grams cream
125 grams macadamia nuts
Some sea salt
How it’s done – Honeyffees with salted macadamias
First roast the macadamias in a pan and sprinkle with some sea salt. Let them cool in a bowl. Then chop them very coarsely.

Mix honey, butter and cream in a small pot and heat the mixture slightly. In the meantime, caramelise the sugar in a large, tall pot until it is amber. Then pour in the warm honey cream (be careful, it hisses!) and pull the pot off the stove. Stir vigorously until the mixture is even, add the nuts and put them into a rectangular greased dish. The easiest way to get the caramel out is to use a silicone mould.

Now you just have to wait until the honey has completely cooled down and solidified, then you can cut it into pieces and wrap it in baking paper.
